If the child was the parents dependent would the parents or the child report the qualified dividends on their taxes.
A. Since the person on record as of the date the dividend was declared was the parent, the parent will receive the 1099DIV and the money. Unless the stock is officially transferred to the child (put in the child's name) then the parent will continue to get the dividends.
