What gift should I get my boyfriend for his 29th birthday?

Q. He adopted a cat for me for my birthday two weeks ago. I don't think anything can top that (I love animals)! Any ideas? He's a gadget man, but seems to have everything.

A. Go to ThinkGeek.com. You should find something there, that he doesn't own. It's a great site with a bunch of gadgets for dorks. Good luck!

Are you supposed to give a gift for someone getting an Associates degree?
Q. My 29 year old niece is graduating with her plain 2 year degree and going on to get her bachelor's so what is etiquette for her age and graduation? Is simply showing up nice, or is it not that big of deal? Should I send money?

A. Depends how close you are. I would treat it like a birthday. If you send her cards and money for her birthday then send her something for her graduation, if not then don't.

If you are a parent, did you feel pressured into putting your two year old in kindergarten?
Q. My daughter just turned 2 and she speaks three languages, goes to a day care center at my gym where she sees other children 10 hours a week, goes to activities at the local library, swimming pool and other activities. She can even read at this early age (I've been teaching her since she was a few months old). I don't want to put her in kindergarten now, but I felt pressured throughout the consultation we had for her 29 month birthday.

A. I'm a dad of a 3 year old who's reading at a First grade level. My wife and I are trying to keep an objective view of this situation. My wife wants to "fast track" him or have him "skip" a grade but I'm against it.

All the books that we've read on the subject of "gifted children" have ONE commonality. They ALL say Don't PUSH the child!!!

If I were you, I would get a Professional "objective" opinion as to your child's level of intelligence and get advise as to what to do about it.

It is our intent to let my son enter school With his peers and see what happens. Its cases like this where parental "due diligence" is a MUST! Good luck to you and yours.
