How much money should I take to Disney World?
Q. I am taking my son to Disney World in October (along with the rest of my family- but I will be buying for me and my son). We have the Park Hopper pass so we won't need to eat inside the park. My biggest fear is getting there and not having enough money. Any advice would be great :)
Forgot to mention we were going for 6 days! We will be hitting every park, plus the two water parks. We already have a house rented outside of Disney to stay in and we will be driving to and from the park.

A. Depends on what your needs are.Nothing in the area is all that cheap. You go the cheaper route by heading to Public and picking up your own food if you a have kitchen or fregator .If you staying off Disney proterty it much easier bring your own cup and use the water fountains to keep cost down water is the best thing to drink in this heat anyway ask for ice if you need to and wait until you back at your hotel if your in Kissimmee their plenty of places to choice from full breakfast buffets that cost about 4 a person. With kids they probably want a snack but buy something simple like popcorn and you and your son can share. As for take home gifts let your child pick one thing in the parks then look for off the road side places that sell similar things of things to save on cost just remind your child none has to know where really brought it.It going to cost regardless find what you really want to do find out the costs and add it up then I add a few hundred extra just in case set it aside in case at the last second you run out of cash or that unexpected thing comes along.I will usually put envelope in my suitcase and leave it there so if near the end of my trip I find myself in need extra cash I will dig it out .Also once you get to a park don't be afraid to use the shuttles they go to all the parks and you will save on gas.We took about a 1000 for a 7 day trip but were eating out mostly .If you really want to save money on parking check the area if one of the local hotels has shuttle to the parks see if you sneak aboard they often don't check to see who is getting on so you hitch a ride for free and once you get to the parks can use Disney free shuttles that go to all parks or always try checking the city bus for stops putting you in walking distance much cheaper then parking your car at the parks and I know Atleast one goes to downtown Disney area where you catch the Disney Shuttles.

What do you do when its raining while staying at the Walt Disney World?
Q. We are beginning intial planning for a trip to Walt Disney World. We are hoping to stay right on site at one of WDW's resorts. However, what do you if its pouring rain for a day? Are the parks even open? Are you stuck at your resort?

A. are you seriously asking the exact same question you asked under a different profile a few days ago?
well you're gonna get the exact same answer:

you do what you would do if it was nice and sunny out.

no the parks don't close just cuz its raining.
they will shut down the outdoor rides if its raining or if there is a threat of lightening but there are TONS of attractions INDOORS that remain open.
the only thing you'll have to deal with is how not to get wet when walking from one attraction to another. for that just make sure you bring or buy a rain poncho (you can get one from walmart for about $4 or at the parks for about $8. the ones at the parks are better quality and will hold up better so i do suggest getting them from the parks).
also pack extra socks and 2 pairs of sneakers. this way when one pair of sneakers gets wet you have another pair to wear while that pair drys out in your room.

even if you don't go to the parks that day hanging out at your hotel doesn't feel like you are "stuck" there cuz there are plenty of things to do. there's at least one gift shop at every hotel. plus there's a food court and an arcade. and the hotels are big so you don't feel cooped up.

and besides depending on WHEN you go you may not get any rain at all. you are more likely to get rain if you go during summer and less likely to run into rain during late fall/winder time.
