Why do women always want to buy gifts for their soldier?

Q. Im not knocking gift buying.

But why do women, always want to buy gifts for everything?

We see the question in here all the time.

What to buy someone graduating Basic/Boot.
What to buy someone graduating AIT.
What to buy someone deploying.
What to buy someone coming back from deployment.

Is it, because, you find yourself in a situation where you have no control over whats happening, and it lets you assume some sort of control and makes you fell involved ?

I look at it from the male perspective, and I can't see buying someone a gift for those occassions, beside flowers when she came home.

Im just trying to get some insight into the female mind.

Help me out here, please.

A. Ever heard the expression "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth'?
Is it the gifts that bother you or the feeling that you have to reciprocate? I know for myself I enjoy showing my appreciation for my man with a gift now and then whether it's a thing or an action. Sometimes it's a six pack of his favorite beer if it sounds like he's had a rough day and needs to unwind. We do it because it makes us feel good to show we think about you and love you. And a gift should always be given with no strings attached otherwise it's not a gift it's a bribe.

What should i get my parents as a thank you gift right before i leave for college?
Q. i am moving into college on Aug. 29th and i would like to get my parents a "thank you" gift for everything theyve done for me. i would like to get them something between $20-40. I have no idea what to get them and i was just wondering if you had any ideas for me.
thanks.

A. I wouldn't buy a gift but would make them a memory album. Make a journal through out the summer with memories, and future plans add some pictures and show them what good parents they have been and how much they have impacted you in where your heading in life. Good luck in college you are about to embark on a new and exciting time in your life!

Should I invite my boyfriend to Christmas dinner with me?
Q. My boyfriend told me when we first started talking that he doesn't really celebrate Christmas because he usually doesn't have anyone to celebrate it with. Well my family always has a little get together every year & we have dinner & exchange gifts & everything. & since I know he's probably going to be at home alone for Christmas I was kind of wanting to invite him to come with me so we could spend Christmas together. Should I?

A. hell yes invite him over! You'd be doing him a big favor by the sounds of it. I'm kind of like this guy, and if my girlfriend invited me over I'd sure as hell be most appreciative.

So invite him.
