Is it inappropriate to tip at a salon with a gift card?

Q. I have a gift card for $40 at a salon in my town. I made an appt today top get my eyebrows, upper lip, and chin waxed and planned to put this on the gift card.

These services all-together come to $32. Is it appropriate to use the remaining balnace on the gift card ($8) to pay the tip?

A. The stylist would have to cash in the gift card (which usually involves a PIN or some other security number), then take the tip out of the register, which would be very inconvenient. So cash would be preferred.

A. you have to ask at the front desk if they will take $8 in cash and give it to the stylist as a tip in exchange for the gift card balance. I would call and ask if you can include the tip when paying with a gift card. your best bet is just to bring cash, it's best to tip in cash because then the stylist doesn't have to claim it on their taxes.

Q. I am wanting to transfer an itunes ($50) gift card with $40.97 left on the remaining balance to another account. Can this be done, and if so what is the process? It seems as though u would be able to.

A. you can't transfer balances between accounts.
you can't use your itunes gift card balance to "gift" items.
