What is a good gift to give to a father that is more about sentimental then expense value?

Q. Whatever i buy him he can easily afford himself. So whats a nice gift for a non-tech dad.

A. Something engraved with your feelings for him. Something that he'll see or use often. Maybe a piece of jewelry, a pen, a mug, etc.

Do high tech gadgets gifts count as marketing expenses?
Q. I am a self employed high-tech consultant with an international practice. I would like to thank some of the great people who help me get and/or execute contracts by offering them high-tech gifts like an iPod, or a digital camera. For tax purposes, can I consider these gifts as marketing expenses and deduct them as such on my Schedule C? If so, is there any limitation on the price of each of those gifts (a digital camera is in the $200-$300 range, same with an iPod)?

A. You can give anything you want but the deduction for business gifts is limited to $25.00 per person.

What's a great gift to get for my best friend if he and I are going to different colleges?
Q. He is going to Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, so I thought maybe some type of college memorabilia would be nice. I don't know - I just want to get something nice.

A. A college T shirt, sweatshirt, or book bag will be nice. Also a framed picture of the two of you together, so he can display it in his dorm room.
