Q. I actually need gifts for three kids. The ring bearing is three and I also need a gift for his older bother (so they don't fight over it) who is thirteen but is severely mentally and physically handicapped. The flower girl is six. I am not very good with children so I do not know what they would enjoy. The wedding is next week so I do not have time to purchase something offline so it cannot be anything to unusual.
A. I got my children attendants personalized picture frames with their names and a cute poem and then engraved on the bottom was "thank you" love, us. They all loved it. We got separate pics with each of them so they can frame them and remember the day.
Can I combine xmas gift and engagement ring?
Q. Is it improper to give an engagement ring as a christmas gift? The ring was so expensive I have no money left for a big present, I was going to give as both. HELP?
A. It would not be a good idea, I think, to combine the giving of the engagement ring with Christmas giving. If you have no money left, that will be no problem for your GF, because the joy of receiving the engagement ring will greatly outweigh not receiving a generic Christmas gift. If you try to combine the two, it will cheapen and make less significant and enjoyable the receipt of the engagement ring. Just explain to her that you put all you could into the engagement ring. If she is the kind of girl who deserves your engagement ring, she will understand. Best wishes.
How should I gift wrap a ring?
Q. Hi, I'm getting this ring for someone (not an engagement ring, just a regular ring) and it comes in the jewelry box that rings normally come in. I was wondering how to give it to them. Should I just leave it in the case as is or wrap it in wrapping paper? I feel like the wrapping paper would be tacky, so should I just leave them to open the box and they would see it?
A. I would do a little gift box or just but a ribbon around the jewelry box.
