What should I include in a christmas gift basket for an older teen?

Q. I'm donating a few christmas gift baskets to a local house that houses women, children, and teens that are involved in domestic violence. I'm wondering what I should include in these gift baskets that the teen girls will actually use. I know what I like to recieve for christmas, but maybe these girls really need something that they can't afford. Any ideas?

A. Every teenage girl is very fashion conscious. You will very rarely find any girl who is not concerned about beauty and figure. So beauty products like mud packs, herbal scrubs and different types of cosmetics are the ideal Christmas gifts for teenage girls.

For more studious and quiet teenagers you can get light romantic novels. Sweet Valley High series, Mills and Boons and Sidney Sheldon are some of the popular novels amongst teenagers.

A pet cat or a puppy is also a very innovative Christmas gift ideas for teens. It will save them from feeling lonely when parents are not at home. It will also teach them to be responsible and will also give them company

How much do you pay for a gift basket?
Q. I am wanting to start a small business making and delivering gift baskets in a small to medium town. Can you tell me how much you have/do pay for gift baskets.

A. It depends on the size, contents, and appearance. Gift baskets can range from $20 to over $200. You should base the price on what your paid for the contents, including the basket and % of profit you want to earn from them. If you spent $70 total on one basket and it's contents then you might want to sell it for 30% more that price. So you make that $70 back plus a profit.

What other Marinated Cheese recipes can I put in my Christmas Gift Baskets?
Q. Someone gave me the idea to include Olive Oil Marinated Feta Cheese in my gift baskets that already include: Homemade pickled garlic, homemade honey butter, rum butter, bread, and Rice Crispy treats.

I loooove the Feta cheese idea however, I found out that feta cheese is pretty exspencive. Do you think i can use Cheddar or jack? Or do you know a similar recipe for something along the same line as marinated cheese?

A. How about:

Marinated Mozzarella

1 pound fresh mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon parsley, coarsely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
1/2 cup strong olive oil
2 teaspoons lemon juice

Cut the mozzarella into 1-inch cubes. Place in a bowl. Add the parsley, basil, oil, and lemon juice and toss to coat. Let sit at room temperature for 3 to 4 hours before serving.
