How come people long ago could write with command of verse, and speak as gifted poets?

Q. People spoke with word pictured metaphor, that the simple people could understand, and relate to. Education was not widely available, but was taught by teachers that had no bargaining back up unions, were driven by dedication, and were not afraid to correct, and discipline. The only high-tech gadget they had was a typewriter, and perhaps a slide rule. I am so weary hearing someone say " You know what I mean " at the conclusion of every subject point! It would be a good thing, if all systems became unreliable to the level that would force us to stand up and take control of our own destiny, and break away from government run education, that is based on false assumptions, and geared to indoctrination.

A. People with a shaky education and lack of substantive character will avoid anything that forces them to think on their feet, and talk with sincerity. They will attack the person that asked a question, that they are totaly unprepaired to answer, without revealing their true nature and feelings. " I don't need no education" " I am an athlete " " I hab lots talent "

What gift to bring to an Indian cradle ceremony?
Q. I have been invited to an Indian cradle ceremony. Can somebody suggest what types of gifts to bring?

A. Cradle ceremony-toys,baby clothes,money in envelopes.XD.
JK Siince it's a cradle ceremony.then obviously u r expected to bring something gud for the child's future. It's called Vyavahar.
My parents either bring gifts like a lovely bib,or toys or small cute little gloves for babies.
Or sarees,pendants,necklaces for mom.
And/or watch,salwar kurta(traditional Indian wear),shoesfor dad.

Nothing high-tech or really costly and fancy, though,u can buy fancy things.
and if worst comes to worst, just bring in an envelope enclosed with a 500 note and 1 rupee coin.(dont FORGET a coin,it's considered good LUCK!!)
Address- From-your name(u r giving it to them,so why waste writing To~?)
Best of luck/Best wishes always/may this bundle of joy bring years of happiness.

What is a good gift for someone who loves technology?
Q. My husband is currently in Iraq. I want to spend around $200 for a Christmas gift. It has to be small and be something he can use over there as well as when he gets home. Please don't say to send pictures or things related to family. He gets plenty of that. He loves computers. He currently has a very small MP3 player (a Sanyo). He does have internet access in his room, but the speed is closer to dial-up. I am kinda stuck on ideas.
Oh yeah... and he does have a laptop in his room and PS3.
