What gifts can or can't I send in the mail to my penpal in Germany?

Q. And if you live in Germany, what would you like to receive from the U.S.? Why don't some countries allow the mailing of playing cards?

A. Playing cards used to have an excise tax in the USA. That's no reason to prohibit their importation. Maybe some Islamist governments like the Taliban think they are sinful.

Buy on http://amazon.de and get quick delivery to your friend, no hassles. There is rather little you can find in the USA that you can't get in the EU. Unless, perhaps, it's something you make yourself.

Where to buy 200 turkeys for employees?
Q. Hello, Iwork in a high tech company in San Jose, CA. This year we are planning to gift turkey to our 200 employees for Thanksgiving. We want to make an arrangment where we can provide a meat vendor with employees names and addresses and turkeys will be shipped out to their homes by the vendor. 95% of employees are around San Jose area and other 5% scattered in USA. Any suggestion on the vendors I can contact? Thank you in advance!

A. I used to work in the grocery industry and what you are asking for is unrealistic, and not cost effective.

For your local employees contact a local grocer like Nob Hill or Safeway, or Lucky and see what sort of deal they will work out for you. Then set up a day for delivery and they will drop them off and then the employees can pick them up.

For the out of state employees I would suggest buying gift cards for a local grocer. They should be equal in value as the average cost of the turkeys provided.

A couple of other things to consider, not everyone eats meat so an alternative gift should be provided for those that choose non meat options. A nice gift basket with nuts and dried fruit is a popular choice.

Not everyone wants a free turkey, many firms offer their employees the option of donating their turkey to a local food bank.

How do you get stuff shipped to you in Panama?
Q. I want to order from ebay but the administration told me that you can't have stuff shipped to you at your house like in the US.
What do I do?

A. In Panama, mail delivery is quite different than in the USA. Depending on what neighborhood you live in ,you can receive mail at any local post office using the following address : Your Name,Neighborhood (ex.El Dorado),number of the post office,Entrega General,Panama,Republica de Panama. Remember anything you're sent, will be opened, and you will be charged a tax for picking it up. This is why I much rather bring gifts with me than send them because sometimes my family doesn't have the money to pickup the package. The other way is to use DHL,but that can become expensive.Wcruzq is right also.
