can I give american dimes as small gifts on a trip to china?

Q. I also have postcards to give. gifts are for kids and tour guides / bus drivers. it's hard to find something to bring as gifts - everything is made in china.
"small gifts" was listed on the packing guide. As a kid, I loved getting foreign coins, so I thought chinese kids might feel the same way. I'm actually writing this for my son, who is 12 and is visiting china with his class. they will visit a class of slightly younger chinese kids. I thought coins would be interesting, especially commemorative state quarters. everyone really thinks this is offensive?

A. How would you feel if a Chinese tourist gives you a Chinese coin as a sort of "commemorative tip"?

It is frankly condescending and insulting, unless you want dirty looks from everywhere I suggest you don't do it.

There's no need to tip tour guides or bus drivers once you paid the full fare/payment. As for kids? Are you planning to go around handing out postcards to strangers and kids you never met? Rather alarming action from a total stranger don't you think?

How much money will the best man at a wedding spend?
Q. My sister's boyfriend asked me to be the best man and money is extremely tight at the moment. If anyone has any suggestions for an inexpensive bachelor party, tux, gifts, and everything you know, please let me know what to do.

A. my fiance's best friend is only spending $50, but it depends on the wedding... some want tuxedos (I don't - just your best black suit) tux rentals are about 150... then there's the bachelor's party... I'd say 250 MAXIMUM and that's including the wedding gift if your funds are tight... or go in together with all the groomsmen

What should I do after a serious relationship breakup?
Q. after 2 years what can I do to get over her? I'm planning on throwing all of gifts away everything that she gave me to begin with. My only problem is that when I go to places it just reminds me of her. and I'm young (21) anyways I'm in college and work, and this is my first serious relationship.

A. Are you sure its over? All relationships have problems. You have truly grown when you can argue or disagree then go on in life without breaking up every time you disagree.
There's nothing more heartbreaking to be in love with someone that leaves at first sign of a little trouble.
If you have those feelings still its worth trying again this time a little harder maybe and with an open mind.
I know personally what you are describing. Eventually it does get easier but that doesn't mean its right.
Maybe the problem that broke you up is not all that you thought in the beginning.
Dont throw the stuff away. Someday down the road you may regret it. Pack it away and decide later.
She is probabally feeling the same way.
Good Luck!
