Q. I want my parents to get me a Macbook Pro for Christmas and that is the only thing I am asking for. The problem is that it is $500 over my parents usual spending budget. I am thinking of telling them that it will be my "college laptop" too but is that an ok condition? Will it lose its value or not?
A. Macbooks are basically overpriced laptops. With a lot more on them in a smaller frame.
I don't think it matters if it is slightly ($500 to be exact) over your parents budget, unless they TRULY cannot afford it.
Just ask them! I'm sure they can get you a cheaper one of eBay or something. It isn't $1500 EVERYWHERE. Over here in England, it is £1099 on Apple and even more from Argos!
However, just look it up and you will find it can lower itself to even £700 ($900)
If it's for college, I'm sure they will oblige.
