I've posted a question kinda similar to this one before..but this time it's more specific.Here what it's all about: I thought of sending a birthday gift for my boyfriend...we're soooo far away,me in Malaysia and him in India,so the gift should be something worth the cost of the post..so I decided that the present would be a shirt.The problem is,I dunno which colour to choose,my boyfriend is Indian so he's dark,I know tht the colour would be pale green,pale blue and all(not striking colours)including pink,orange and red but I really really am confused in choosing it.His fav colour is black,so which colour would win(based on the situation)if BLACK vs PALE GREEN/PALE BLUE/and other pale colour?Please,help me..and all answers are highly appreciated.Even if ur answer's not being chosen as the best one,it's somehow means a lot and still is the best for me!Thanks....!

A. I would suggest sending him a pin striped shirt that adds a little color or flavor to a simple black one.
Look for a black shirt with very thin stripes in another color.
Or you could even get a shirt with black stripes (see the african american model on the first page of http://www.pvh.com/Brand_VanHeusen.html)
Also, it depends where your boyfriend lives and what the shirt is for.
I'm Indian and I know that especially in North India, dark shirts (black mostly) are very popular for going out at night. Skin color is not the issue.
If he is in South India it tends to be warmer throughout the year so black might not be nice.
If it's for work, I would suggest sending a neutral pale shirt.
Of course the best solution would be to send TWO shirts!! One black which you know he would like, and one pale which you think suits him better.

He can probably use it to go out, but not for work I don't think - dark shirt during the day don't look good anyway.
Also, I think the culture in India is such that very few men wear salmon pink shirts. Most of the guys I know experiment with color when they wear t-shirts. Your boyfriend could be different in that he is more adventurous?

A. Black!!! That will suit him fine because 1) he likes black 2) it goes well with a beige trousers, 3) It will be a night wear when he goes for functions 4) He will look handsome
